TITLE LOCATION SALARY DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS
CHEMICAL SR PROJECT ENGINEER CHICAGO, outlying western suburb $75K - $90K Develop a scope of work for projects that meets the plant and corporate goals;
Coordinate and lead design discussions to obtain the desired goals and direction for the project;
Develop process flow diagrams for the project in coordination with production personnel;
Develop process and instrument diagrams for project scope;
Utilize elements of Process Safety Management (PSM) to determine impact of engineering changes
Prepare the final capital request for appropriations with all necessary support documentation;
Develop engineering standards and specifications for all applicable items; such as equipment, buildings, piping, etc...;
Interface with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation of engineering changes;
BS Chemical Engineering with minimum 7 years chemical project engineering experience
Experience with cradle to grave project engineering and equipment redesign.
Experience with design simulation and use of simulation software
Strong chemical engineering knowledge with proven ability to apply that technical knowledge
Experience with inorganic and hazardous chemicals
Knowledge of engineering processes and related engineering legislation and standards.
Six sigma certification preferred
MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER CHICAGO, western suburb $75k – $95k The Maintenance Engineer will investigate equipment problems and design modifications to improve reliability, productivity and safety.
The investigations will frequently involve failure analysis to determine the basic cause of equipment failures and recommend improvements in design to reduce or eliminate failures.
Assisting with equipment repairs. This may require working with original equipment manufacturers, OEM’s, and outside shops in regard to repair of stationary and rotating equipment.
Responsible for project planning of major equipment redesign or upgrades.
It will also involve monitoring of the progress of projects executed by company personnel or outside service providers.
Responsible for preparation of equipment repair procedures.
BSME engineering degree with 6+ years maintenance / reliability/project experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
Mechanical engineer is preferred, as well as licensed P.E.
2+ years of supervisory experience related to above would be a plus.
Experience with vibration monitoring and analysis.
Understanding of equipment balancing and alignment principles.
Understanding of API codes relating to procurement, testing, and repair of equipment and structures.
Willingness to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

SHE SUPT CHICAGO IL (WEST OF)

 

$80K - $90K This position is responsible for leading and directing the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) function including Product Stewardship, for the chemical company with three sites west of Chicago, Illinois.
In addition, this position is responsible for the security function at the sites and organizing & supporting the local Community Advisory Panel.
B.S. in science or engineering or related technical discipline Certification in a SHE discipline is preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, etc.)
At least 5 to 10 years experience in health, safety, or environmental

NEW DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING MGR CT $95K – 115K Reporting to the ST General Manager, the New Development Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing of new engineering programs/projects for Surface Technologies.
Primary responsibilities will be to manage large, long-term, R&D projects (1 - 3 years) and will be responsible for facilitating new product development and program initiatives as well as act as a technical lead for developing new or improved processes and plasma coating qualification requirements for ST.
The position will create new internal coating specifications / IPs and provide advanced technical engineering expertise to Management, Sales/Marketing, Operations and customers alike on new or improved thermal spray coating applications, complex plasma techniques, new coating specifications and management of R&D project initiatives from concept development to production.
The position will interact with the Sales and Operations to identify, plan, develop, and document new technical projects.
He/she will demonstrate an understanding of the strategic business needs as it relates to growth and product/market expansion.
The position will provide senior leadership direction to resources assigned to supporting the new development project teams.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMPLIANCE MANAGER (CORPORATE) HOUSTON TX MKT Position will manage all aspects of North American import and export processes and transactions to insure optimum value while insuring compliance with all U.S. import laws and export regulations.
Accurate classification for finished goods, raw materials and equipment under the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Export Control Classification Number systems
Collection and maintenance of data and certifications necessary from suppliers, business management, finance and manufacturing for NAFTA qualification

DCS & PROCESS CONTROLS ENGINEER BATON ROUGE (area) LA $90K- 105K A major chemical company has an opening at the St. Gabriel, Louisiana facility for a DCS & Controls Engineer with preferred experience in the chemical or petro-chemical industries.
This position provides day-to-day, long-term technical support for the Yokogawa DCS, associated interfaces, and various PLC applications.
Maintain control strategies which safely and reliably meet operating requirements of the facility.
Configure and test control system and operator interfaces.
Insure ancillary equipment is properly maintained.
Maintain DCS programming for long-term plant reliability.
Train facility staff in proper system operation. Maintain drawings and other relevant documentation to insure long-term viability of systems.
Troubleshoot DCS and interfaces, taking the lead role in this effort.
Loop-tuning within DCS.
Perform DCS and ancillary equipment inspections, develop repair specifications and procedures, schedule repairs, develop material specifications, and provide required direction

The Process Safety Specialist will interface with the appropriate ESH resources and manufacturing resources to resolve, implement or delegate process safety requirements.
Ensuring facility compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) rules.
Facilitating of Process Hazard Analysis and Layers of Protection Analysis studies
Owning and auditing various existing process safety programs such as Management of Change (MOC) program site wide.
Driving process safety corrective actions to closure;
Setting and tracking goals and measures for PSM program improvement;

FERMENTATION PROCESS ENGINEER SC Coastal To $100k Responsible for process development (fermentation) and technology transfer between R & D and manufacturing, process optimization and manufacturing new products (start-up).
Responsible for developing, supporting, and optimizing fermentation processes at a LARGE SCALE manufacturing facility.
Actively lead fermentation development and continuous improvement activities.
Fermentation process includes: fermenters, chilled water, agitators, sterile feed systems, gas scrubbers, pH control, automated controls.
Lead tech transfer projects, successfully introducing new fermentation processes into large scale manufacturing facility.
Provide technical support for fermentation processes as needed,
Conduct laboratory and pilot scale experiments to evaluate and develop new technologies.
BS or MS in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering with 8 + years fermentation process engineering, experience in pilot plant and production at large scale manufacturing facility in a hands-on capacity, using analytical and microbiological skills.
