Description:
A successful long
established chemical company has an immediate opening at the
Baton Rouge, Louisiana facility for a DCS & Controls Engineer
with preferred experience in the chemical or petro-chemical
industries. This position provides day-to-day, long-term
technical support for the Yokogawa DCS, associated interfaces,
and various PLC applications.
Responsibilities include:

Maintain
control strategies which safely and reliably meet operating
requirements of the facility.

Configure and test control system and operator interfaces.
-
Insure
ancillary equipment is properly maintained.

Maintain
DCS programming for long-term plant reliability.
-
Train
facility staff in proper system operation.
-
Maintain
drawings and other relevant documentation to insure
long-term viability of systems.

Troubleshoot DCS and interfaces, taking the lead role in
this effort.

Loop-tuning within DCS.

Perform
DCS and ancillary equipment inspections, develop repair
specifications and procedures, schedule repairs, develop
material specifications, and provide required direction.
Qualifications
include:
-
Bachelor's degree required; engineering
or technical disciplines preferred.

Minimum
of 3+ years work experience with Distributed Control
System (DCS) configuration, networking, commissioning,
and technical long-term support.

Experienced use of Yokogawa DCS and PI
-
Recent
process industry experience preferred (i.e. chemical,
petro-chemical process).

Experienced use of Microsoft Office products; SAP
experience preferred.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

to work in a team environment.

Demonstrated trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
