Environmental Specialist
Job Location: South of Houston, TX, USA
This position is responsible for certain
environmental efforts across the site. The Environmental
Specialist will interface with the appropriate ESH and
manufacturing resources to resolve implement or delegate
environmental requirements. This position is responsible for but
not limited to the following:

Supporting the compliance process for the
facility as the subject matter expert in the area of leak
detection and repair, air compliance, storm water, and other
assigned environmental programs.

Ensuring technical and regulatory compliance
in the area of leak detection and repair, air regulations
for assigned units, and storm water as well as managing
emerging regulatory issues to assure minimal impact and
timely implementation.

Ensuring compliance with company policies
and procedures by providing guidance to the plant’s capital,
maintenance and other activities.

Maintaining a favorable image with
communities, regulatory agencies and other companies through
active involvement with the TCEQ, EPA, TCC and neighboring
facilities.

Chairing site environmental incident
investigation teams.

Participating in environmental audits at
other company plants.
-
Participating on corporate-wide
environmental networks to develop and update environmental
related requirements and procedures.

Assist other media compliance and other
program activities as needed.
Required Skills

Working knowledge of leak detection and
repair and air regulations & operations.

Excellent written and oral
communication skills, organizational and planning skills,
facilitation skills, computer skills

others.

Flexible, analytical and detailed oriented.
Required Experience
-
B.S. Degree in Environmental or Chemical
Engineering, Environmental Sciences or equivalent.
-
5 years experience working with
environmental regulations.
Highly Desirable Experience
-
Understanding of chemical plant operations.
-
Experience with Title V and new source
permitting requirements in the state of Texas
-
Experience in water, hazardous waste, and
other regulations is a plus.

Leadership of incident investigation teams
